How did you attract/address your audience?
In the video below I have interviewed Olivia, a seventeen year old student from St Johns sixth form. She is prime example of a member of our target audience. Before filming the video I showed Olivia our opening. However she had already seen it before through social media websites such as my Facebook link but she watched it again so she could look at it with a fresh image in her head before answering a series of questions. The questions used were prepared before hand, but Olivia's answers were not as I wanted to get as honest an answer that I could.
The interview was very helpful as it showed us what the most effective techniques were in order to attract a member of our target audienc.

Script:
What is your favourite genre?
Olivia: My favourite movie genre is science-fiction and romantic-comedies because I really like to read a lot of books like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games and then I watch the films. And then with romantic-comedies I quite like because they are light-hearted and funny.
What genre would you say our opening is?
Olivia: I think it's social realism because it's stuff that goes on in everyday lives. With science-fiction that's stuff that's not really but this stuff is real and relatable as it hits you more and you're more effected by it than you would be if you watched something that wasn't really true.
Would was your initial reaction to our opening?
Olivia: I really liked it, I actually found it really emotional. You could tell what the movie was going to be about. Like from the beginning, you automatically knew that the film was obviously about ballet and about a girl struggling with depression.
Would you watch the film having seen the opening?
Olivia: Yeah, I definitely would because I am really intrigued and I kind of wanted it to go on a bit longer so I could actually find out why she was like that and what happened to her at the end because we literally have no idea and that's really interesting.
Are there any techniques or features which you found effective?
Olivia: I really liked the close ups of Chrissy's face because I think that it was more raw and we could see the emotion. Also the shots of the ballerinas really set the scene and the story.
Are there any other films you could compare this to?
Olivia: The Black Swan, with Natilie Portman. They relate because of the ballet and because both of the girls are suffering from split personalities which not everyone knows about and they're suffering internally.
In the video below I have interviewed Freya, a sixteen year old student from St Johns sixth form and member of Youth Parliament. She is prime example of a member of our target audience. Before filming the video I showed Freya our opening. Unlike Olivia she hadn't seen the opening before so it my questions were answered on initial thoughts, which is how an audience would first see it. Like Olivia, I asked Freya a series of questions for her to answer. The questions used were prepared before hand, but Freya's answers were not.

Would was your initial reaction to our opening?
Freya: I thought it was good, I thought the cinematography was really good and the music was really fitting. It looked like something I really wanted to watch.
Are there any techniques or features which you found effective?
Freya: Yeah, I thought the music was quite emotional and gave us a bit of an insight to the film as a whole and suggested that it might be quite an emotional film to watch.
What did you think of the film title?
Freya: Well, the bit we saw there, I think it was very fitting.
What were your thoughts on the definition at the end?
Freya: I thought it was good because originally I was confused as to what the word meant. So it cleared things up but because the clip ended on the definition it made you think and made you want to know more.
What did you think of the font?
Freya: Yeah, the font was good. I think it was kept simple which sometimes simple is the best way to go.
What were your thoughts on the choice of music?
Freya: Yeah, I liked the music. Yeah, it begins to be quite emotional, it's quite moving music, which seemed to suggest a kind of journey or something, which is quite intriguing.
Any other thoughts and comments you would like to make?
Freya: The acting seemed quite good and over all the camera angles and cinematography had a nice kind of effect on it which made it look very sleek and polished.
