Due to our genre being social realism, as a group we have collectively decided to focus on the social issues of drug abuse at a young age and the affects. Drug abuse is a key theme to social realism as is a real issue in some people's everyday lives, meaning people who may watch our film can relate to it in one way or another.
Although our main issue is going to be drug abuse, that can easily link to other issues in the everyday life and we have chosen to link the theme with social/class pressures which is clearly linked to the drugs as our character uses drugs as one way of coping with these pressures. (These pressures can also link to the media and its influences on our character and people in general).
